Hello everyone,
For the past several months, the committee has been looking to expand in order to maintain a sufficient number of members and ensure that the diversity of players’ perspectives on the Peasant format is properly represented. To this end, we considered several applications from Lojek, Neral, and Yamipotter. The applications of Neral and Yamipotter were selected by the current committee.
Congratulations to our two new members, who will introduce themselves below.
The members of the new committee are:

Peasant community,
I am honored to officially join the Peasant Committee. My name is Manuel T. (Neral on Cockatrice), I am 24 years old and originally from Paris. I have been playing Magic since 2011 and discovered the Peasant format the following year, with a renewed interest in it in 2016. Initially a casual player, my passion for deckbuilding led me to become more involved in the format, which I have come to cherish for its deckbuilding constraints and the diversity of its archetypes.
I joined the online and Parisian Peasant community in 2018 and gradually became more interested in the competitive scene, through the Mtg-Peasant League and events such as Gro'Pez and the French Championship.
I have devoted myself particularly to the Peasant format over the past few years, and I decided to join the committee in order to put my deckbuilding and testing experience at the service of the community. I closely follow the latest developments in MtG, our format, and its cousin Pauper. I often build prototypes to test the viability of an archetype, and sometimes even develop tools to optimize decklists.
I am first and foremost a combo player. What really excites me is finding a sexy synergy, figuring out how to exploit it, discovering its weaknesses in actual matchups, refining the list, and converging towards an optimal strategy. I believe these skills are important to maintaining the health of the format, especially given the ever-increasing number of viable new cards released in recent years, which makes the task of keeping the format healthy increasingly challenging.
I look forward to seeing you online on Cockatrice/Discord and discussing your expectations for the format with you. I will do my best on this journey, and I hope it will prove to be a rewarding experience both for Peasant and for myself.

Hi, fellow peasants,
I am honored to officially join the Peasant Committee, and I will try to introduce myself briefly by answering some of the questions you may have about me.
The first one is probably: “Who are you?”
I am Yamipotter, or Vincent C. in real life. I have been playing Magic since 2001, and I played in my first serious tournament in 2006, a Junior Super Series where I faced a player running Sensei's Divining Top (that must have traumatized me). I have played various formats over the years: Standard from 2006 to 2009, then Limited and Legacy, before eventually becoming seriously involved in Peasant.
“How did you discover Peasant?”
I discovered Peasant through Magic-ville. For several years, I followed what was happening in the format without actually playing it much. What really sparked my interest in the format was the article about High Tide, which I thought was fantastic. It actually became a reference point for me when I wrote my article about CounterTop: I wanted to make people want to play the deck and the format, just as that article had made me want to do so. My first Peasant tournament was the 2019 French Championship, and I have been playing the format regularly ever since, both online and in paper.
“What do you think you can bring to the committee and to the format?”
I believe I am already quite involved in the format, but I wanted to do more. For instance, I discuss Zombie33's articles with him, help proofread them, and regularly suggest improvements for his website, which is one of the format's showcases. Whenever I have some free time, I update the deck images on mtg-peasant (having a nice-looking showcase is important, even if my artistic choices sometimes need to be toned down).
I also try to write articles about the format, and I regularly brew specifically for Peasant, in order to help the format develop its own identity rather than eventually becoming Pauper with five uncommons. This is one of the criticisms that regularly comes up about the format, and I think the best way to counter it is to have players who build specifically for Peasant, rather than simply adapting decks from other formats.
I was involved in the creation of, or among the first players to play, several decks that have either influenced the format (even if only modestly) or performed well in it. For example, I was part of the team behind CounterTop, MBA, and MGA Panini. I believe this demonstrates my interest in helping the metagame evolve and thrive.
On the other hand, I think I can bring a different perspective from those already represented on the committee: that of a player who leans towards control decks that aren't Tron, but also of a crazy deck-builder (I admit there are several of us like that on the committee). We need to be able to bring different perspectives together in order to make good decisions, and I believe that the more diverse the committee is, the better the decisions it will make.
Finally, in keeping with what was done a few years ago, I would like to represent a community: the South-West of France. In my opinion, having committee members representing different communities can only make the committee's decisions easier for those communities to accept. I believe I can help bridge the gap between the committee and the South-West communities (even though they are small): Toulouse, Bergerac, and Agen, where I have local connections.
Best regards,
Vincent “Yamipotter” C.
